Two weeks traveling through Java I invited 7 of my most adventurous friends to Indonesia and dragged them on a two week trip through the most populous island in the world. During the trip we were on a small 12 seater airplane, and some of us crashed a scooter. We surfed a long mellow point…
This is another photo special from my favorite weekend getaway. A couple of weeks ago I went to Gerupuk (yes again) to hang out with my brother and his girlfriend, and my friends in the village.
Soul searching in Bali, Dragon hunting in Komodo National park, and surfing in Lombok.
After a short trip to Krakatau, I went to Nias for a week of surfing. What better way to celebrate my 30th year around the sun?
A friend asked me a good question: “Why do you wanna go out in the middle of the Sunda Strait to watch an erupting volcano?” Dear friend, this is my answer to you.
Spending our days on an empty beach, surfing empty waves, and emptying fresh coconuts.
“Mau ke mana?” said one of the security guards in my office building when I came dragging in through the security checkpoint with a surfboard Friday morning. It means where are you going? Me: “Mau ke Lombok.” “aah, ke Lombok lagi?” (To Lombok again?) Me: “Ya. Mau ikut?” (Yes, wanna join?) “Haha, tidak bisa.” (Cannot.)
My favorite surf spots in Bali
You need to read this if you want to go surfing in Lombok.
You don’t have to be a dying religious person to go to heaven, you can catch a flight to Lombok and drive down to Ekas Bay. Far east on the south coast of Lombok there’s a resort called Heaven On The Planet. It’s a cocky name, but it does live up to it.
